I was sitting in my first year computer engineering class with my friend.

My computer science learning started with what is Internet explorer in computers.

My friend explained in fantastic way, its something to explore things on internet by browsing through. Learned the words Internet explorer , browser and browsing. :)

Next. My friend told me to type website address in address bar. What’s website address & What’s that address bar? :)

What’s website/web address/URL?

Website or web address is an unique reference to a resource/thing which is made available in Internet.

URI/URL: Uniform Resource Identifier / Uniform Resource Locator.

URIs identify and URLs locate; however, locators are also identifiers, so every URL is also a URI, but there are URIs which are not URLs.

One can classify URIs as locators (URLs), or as names (URNs), or as both. A Uniform Resource Name (URN) functions like a person’s name, while a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) resembles that person’s street address. In other words: the URN defines an item’s identity, while the URL provides a method for finding it.

What’s address bar?

Address bar is a space in Internet explorer where in you type the website address. For example www.google.com and you will see the results in the large space provided below in the browser.

My next question was to him. What is menu and file, open etc.?

Menu is like available actions or things you can do. It is like you choose and order food items in the restaurants. It is similar to that Menu we see in restaurant.

Java is a programming language. This I learned while I was sitting in my Engineering second year class room.
